Picture taken from the Arndale Centre Multi-Storey Car Park. This car park opened 10th January 2011 and this all-singing all-dancing car park replaces the old Station Road surface car park which closed the same day. It will be operated by First Capital Connect and has been paid for by funding secured by Luton Borough Council. Fully lit, fully accessible and covered by CCTV which is monitored from a control centre to which motorists can speak 24/7. Season ticket holders will find the barriers open automatically for them thanks to an automatic number plate recognition system. It will have 729 spaces compared to the previous car park's 436. Sound too good to be true and I will wait to see how it really makes out before leaving my car there for my London trips bearing in mind the crime rate in this town!
