Hi Gert, thanks a lot. Polytropos' answer is also a alternative ;-) but the technique I used for this photo is called ColorKey. It was taken from the upper deck of a bus. First it was only a snapshot of a street scene and I even did not mentioned the cabs until I was back home. Then the idea was born. A similiar photo can be found here.

It is not a function but a technique. There are various alternatives to get the result shown above. The technique I used for it is very simple and can be done with every image processing program supporting layers. First duplicate the original image then convert the upper image to greyscale and erase the areas where you want to make the colours of the original image visible. That is all. :-)
