Nice look through Ian. Is there a waterfall nearby at the left? I wandered why the line was in the river and enlarged the map. The line could be seen at the map too. Greetings Berend

It is quite a simple image, Berend, but when wlaking beside the river it is little windows like this that one stops to look through. As I was thinking about my behaviour, I decided to photograph what I was experiencing. The line is to prevent small boats or people going over the weir, which is just downstream to the right.

The appearance of a change in the appearance of the water surface on the GE image upstream is merely the angle of light reflecting from the surface of the river.

This stretch of the Nepean River has been well used for rowing over the years, and still is for club training, but there is a marvellous artificial course that was used for Sydney Olympics a few kilometres downstream.

Thanks Ian. Greetings Berend

Hello again, Berend,

I said a few kms downstream, but the new regatta centre is only 1500m away to the north - move the GE image down a little and the regatta centre will be obvious to you. It looks like something Dutch engineers could be responsible for!
