Thank you Peter, that's very kind! Best wishes, Andy
Hi Andy. Photography here on Panoramio seems to be exhibited in two fashions. 1) Holiday/local snapshots that would have normally been for family and friends only, and 2) rather special artistic or very interesting pictures of places, nature, things and lighting that are sometimes exhibition quality, displayed on here for the dedicated photographer and viewer. This is one of those! Like, well done.
Best wishes, Herb
I am flattered by your complimentary comments, Herb; especially so as this shot really was beginner's luck. All I have is a cameraphone and I didn't start taking photos at all until exactly one year ago. I saw these cistus' against the craggy backdrop and wondered if the cameraphone would cope with the depth of focus. It did up to a point (sufficiently to please me anyhow!).
I'm very pleased you like it and thank you very much for your visit, kind comments and 'likes'.
All best wishes, Andy
My pleasure Andy. I always try to say something constructive about photo's that I like.
A blooming joy photo LIKE, Peter
Thanks for the like (and the pun) Peter! Many thanks for your visit, kind comments and likes. Best wishes, Andy
Yes, you know a Rose, is a Rose, is a Rockrose ;)
I do indeed, Peter, and these gum cistus are horribly sticky as you traipse through them (I do a lot of mountain walking here). The Spanish name is jara which is Arabic / Berber for s..t, as that is what they're are supposed to smell like. Personally I don't think so - but I don't much like the heady/sickly fragrance they fill the air with for hundreds of miles around when in flower. Their only saving grace really is that they are beautiful when they cover the mountainsides! Best wishes, Andy
Andy thanks a lot for your detailed etymological explaining....every good smell can be too much :) And truly they are some fine flowers indeed. Best wishes, Peter
Nice composition. Good job. Like. Greetings, Carles

Many thanks, Maurice.
Fleur, De Printemps - song, poem, yours, someone elses??? Please give an attribution when you quote something like this! It makes it easier to know how to respond! Is the Maurice.83 a clue? Is this your age? Is it the year you wrote this song?? You see... it is all very confusing to those that don't know you or don't have a key to your methods!
Thank you! Have a good weekend. Best wishes, Andy
Of course! 83 Var! (and 84 Vaucluse!) - I did know this once.
And if the poetry is yours (and it does reflect the Provence I love) then I salute it and you!
Maurice I understand now - It was just me being a little stupid this morning ... SORRY!
