Nice photo. This is correctly described as Torrens Parade Ground. The building was constructed relatively recently, in 1938, but the area had been used as a military Assembly area and training ground since the early days of the colony. The site had been ceded by the Colony to the Commonwealth and used as a military base until 2001 when the State of SA resumed the site and carried out an extensive refurbishment of the area. It is now the base of the History Trust of SA and a range of veterans and Ex-Services organisations.
