Incredible country! Wonderfull picture of it...;D

Тилигузов Сергей on December 7, 2007

Wow! All is red. I read about it and saw on TV. Why ground, stones and rocks is red? Color looks like a rusty iron. Perhaps in their structure there are particles of iron?

Sergej.

Marilyn Whiteley on December 7, 2007

Thanks, eme jota and Sergej. You are correct, Sergej: the rusty colour is caused by the oxidation of iron in the rocks. Marilyn

Neat shot Marilyn. That red could be the red rocks around Sedona. http://www.panoramio.com/photo/5922981 Very nicely saturated. Pity there were no clouds to spice up the sky but it is the desert isn't it? Regards, Tom

Thanks, Tom, for your comment and the link. I've been in the Sedona area all too briefly and loved it. As for the sky, yes, it's a dessert and so I guess the cloudless sky expresses "stark" more accurately than some photogenic clouds would. Greetings, Marilyn

Greetings Marilyn, Thanks for posting some more of the beautiful photographs you got on your trip down under. The terrain in this shot is beautiful. What a clear blue sky. Very nice.

Cheers,

Rich

Incredible site! Beautiful contrast with the blue sky. I think visiting this place gives you a feeling of nature at his best! Greetings, Wil en Ed.

Thank you, Rich and Ed. I've now had time to edit more photos from our trip, getting ready to share them (prints and picture show) with our family at Christmas. When I find incredible sights like this, I can't help wanting to post them even though I'd already shared some. I'm happy if you're not tired of seeing them! Greetings, Marilyn

Many thanks, John. At this drab season, I need the colour of photos like this even more than I need the warmth! We've been having lots of grey, cloudy days. I guess I'd never survive living in Vancouver!

Thank you, Misa, for your kind words. To be there also feels like being on the Red Planet! Greetings, Marilyn

Of course, a wonderful pic. Australia must be a amazing country. I'll try to go there some day.

Marilyn Whiteley on December 15, 2007

Australia is amazing, Romão, and I would love to see the excellent photos you would take there.

Great landscape, Australia is the beautiful and magical land!

Cheers! Kasia

Marilyn Whiteley on January 29, 2008

Thank you, Kasia. Yes, in spite of all I had seen and heard, I still was unprepared for the magical beauty of Australia!

Cheers, Marilyn

This is wonderful land! You convinced me to go there soner or later, though it's so far...

Marilyn Whiteley on May 31, 2008

The outback of Australia is certainly worth the trip, antorenz! It's too bad it's so far for so many of us ...
