Both the chairlift (on the right) and gondola (less visible steel framework tower on the left) provide access from the highway garage/parking to Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. Both the lift and gondola pass directly over the train tracks, which makes for an fun ride/experience when a train is passing by underneath. You'll pass this point only on the California Zephyr.

Ah, thanks! It's been many years since I lived in the area, but Sugar Bowl used to be my favorite ski resort out there. I hadn't realized they'd built a lift between the parking and the rest of the resort.
