A view looking North West from this fabulous little village in Madeira.

Hiya Herb :-) What a remarkable place... What is the structure on the top of the highest peak? And in the water, is that a wall or causeway that joins the various bits of rock?

Madera is a place I have many good things.. what you have here backs it all up :-)

Hi Steve, I am very happy that you should be the first to comment on this photo and also grant its first award. (Maybe the only?) Yep, Medeira, is a place of many scenes this being only one. Indeed as you saw, these natural rock pools are joined by a rather unnatural series of paths. it was behind a rather fine fish restaurant and was probably their private sea-edge-walk? As for the structure on top of the big hill, my guess is as good as yours, (maybe a shelter or lighthouse structure of some kind?).

Cheers, Herb

I like this photo.

Stuart, Mario and Nickolay, great to see you guys here admiring this fine rocky seascape. I see now a strange cut-out effect of the sky brought about by a slightly different HDR technique. Rest assured though, that the sky is exactly as it was. (I told my HDR program to leave the sky as original!) Hmm, better brush up on my skills.

Linrich, in case I have not said it before - welcome to my gallery. Glad you like what I see and do here. Please call again.

Best wishes to you all, Herb

行者无路 and Antoni F, welcome to my humble gallery. I am happy you like my work here and may it bring a small glimpse of our extended world to you both.

Odeveld, great to share a place with you. I had a meal in the local fish restaurant here and only wished that I had more time to really explore this magnificent scenery. I was lucky with the weather this day, no rain for us.

Artem, thanks again for another visit. Yep, pretty beautiful place indeed.

Many thanks to you all for your awards.
