Mandai Orchid Garden

Nestled in the lushly forested quiet area of Mandai Lake Road is the alluring Mandai Orchid Garden. The Garden offers visitors a fine display of the myriads of orchids in open sunshine, and is a place of horticultural interest in Singapore.

The 2 hectares of our Vintage Garden showcases a vast variety of orchids on an open hillside with the gradual gradient providing an ideal condition for orchid cultivation. There are over 200 varieties of orchids which are grouped into major families namely Mokara, Dendrobium, Vanda, Aranthera, Renantanda, Aranda and Garammatophylum speciosum (Tiger Orchid).

There are tiny pockets in Singapore where Nature and Man have co-existed in peace and harmony for a long time. One such pocket is the critically acclaimed Water Garden. The Water Garden was built on narrow marshland in the 1950s, and have been created in harmony with nature to be enjoyed by all who pass through it. The fall of the land has been skillfully and artistically created to appear natural with a clear stream running through it.

Following the cemented path to the end of the garden will take you to a netted enclosure where a large variety of organic Herbs & Spices can be found. Various herbs and spices like rosemary, basil, mint, tumeric, dill, and lemongrass are grown here. Other plants like chilli and capsicum can also be seen alongside the herbs. Diners at the garden restaurant can actually enjoy fresh herbs and vegetables straight from the earth to their plates!
