Wow Kamaly this is really nice. Cheers, Volkan

Thanks, Volkan! I was out at the Christmas tree farm with a few of my sisters, nieces, and nephews, and this hawk seemed to be moving from tree to tree following us. It was really complacent letting me get right under it to take photos, but I started wondering if it was thinking about trying to take off with one of the 3 year-olds! Turns out it follows the farmer around the fields all day, sort of acting like a bit of a pet.

Nawitka on December 11, 2007

Awesome! This is the one that didn't get away! Lucky you!

kamalyn on December 11, 2007

Thanks, Nawitka! If you saw the comment to Volkan, as a rare turn of events, this almost seemed like the one that wouldn't go away! But it was pretty amazing to let me stay there only about 20' away, being a paparazzi, getting shots I just dream about, and letting the S3 look pretty darn good! :-) (It made up for a flock of about 30 wild turkeys by the side of the road on the way to the farm that I couldn't convince the others in the car to stop for!)

Nawitka on December 11, 2007

Don't you hate that? My family is the same ... although they would probably say they would stop for wild turkeys, they would say it too late, and then not stop at all!

Great shot, kamaly!

Cheers, Inessa

Thanks inessa! Nawitka, I guess the problem is that in the suburbs around here, the wild turkeys have been coming back so well that they are even becoming a nuisance, and a bit like roving gangs of thugs threatening people driving down the street! There's even one here that lives in a park near MIT in a pretty developed part of Cambridge. So my sisters didn't think they were worth a photo-stop for the city girl. (My family and friends know they'd never get anywhere if they stop every time I want to! Its sort of standard operating procedure - just let Kathy do her own thing. She'll catch up with us...)

A very Belated thanks to you , Marilyn - looks like I missed your comment in December!

And many Thanks, Phoenix ! The close complacent hawk and the timing at sunset was really a stroke of luck! Cheers!

Hi Kamaly,

I've checking your birds pics and they are amazing, I love them. You might find some of mine under the label "Animales", hope you'll like them.

By the way, did you check the web site I sent you? There you might see lot of Spanish flying wildlife.

Best of luck and good shots.

Cheers, Oscar.
