Thank you for the inspiration, Carsten! Your photo is great! Actually I could have continued with anything like steel, stone, wood and hay or lines, but I knew it had to be something reduced, yet strong in its meaning in order not to spoil the very expressive photos of you, John and Erik.

Greetings, May

This is now the first photo in the chain. ???

Where did the old first photo go, and where are the rules?

I was just wondering the exact same thing, Nawitka. I don't know what has happened. Cheers, Christophe

I noticed it was missing when I uploaded my photo a few days ago. I found the instructions in one of Marilyn's responses on a photo that was displayed on the first page. I can't seem to find this photo anymore either. Paul

Hi Nawitka, Christophe, Paul,

Thanks for your message! Amazing to hear that Photochain still got it's fans;-) I don't know what happened to the first photo. It must have been deleted by someone, not by me. I have to recollect the 'rules of the game' from memory and will try to formulate them again. I think it's best to put them at what's now the start of the chain, this picture from Carsten.

Cheers to all of you,

Erik

RULES FOR PHOTOCHAIN

I started Photochain december, 10th 2007. Since then many of you on Panoramio have contributed and I would like to thank you all very much for playing ‘the game’ with me!

Unfortunately, the first picture of Photochain has been deleted by someone, although we still can see the picture here. From now on we consider this picture from Carsten to be the first in the chain.

Here are the 'original rules of the game':

  1. Log in on the Photochain account with username photochain@gmail.com, password guest and upload your picture.

  2. The picture must have a relationship to the previous one posted. The relationship ideally has to be on image level, like a relationship in form, shape, composition or colour(s), but relationship in atmosphere, subject matter or referral to elements in the previous picture is also fine. You can use your own gallery or create new images. Just let your creativity do the work.

  3. Add your Panoramio name or real name in the titel of the image, so we can see to whom it belongs.

  4. The composition and the image as a whole may not be manipulated (Photoshopped) and adding graphical elements is prohibited. Slight manipulation, like image enhancing, sharpening, making black and white and so on is okay, as long as the original composition stays intact. Otherwise it would be to easy to create your follow-up.

  5. You may post one picture at a time. Someone else has to react on yours. Of course you can leave comments, but remember to log out first, so that your comments appear under your own name.

  6. Inappropriate pictures will be deleted.

I hope you’ll add your contribution and enjoy yourself playing the game!
