This is a looking "straight up" near the Northern leg of the arch. What an awesome work of architecture + engineering this monument is!
What a unique picture! Really nice.
Really nice picture. The clouds and con. trail make for a great composition.
Audrey, Chis, and Geezer - thank you all for you nice comments, and happy new year to you all! 2012 has begun - may our shutters keep shuttering and our lenses keep lensing. . .
Mysterious views. Interesting.
Best wishes and Happy New Year 2012 .
E-kaz - yes I guess it is a it mysterious, now that you mention it! My son thought it looked like looking up through water surface from below.
Happy new year,

Schönes Foto!!! | Great shot!!!
Très joli, très original.
GM, k.-pic, and jerome, Thank you all for your glowing comments! I think I am liking this picture more all the time! I'm mad at myself, though - I ended up posting a version that wasn't cropped/shiftedquite the way I finally settled upon (with arch nearly perfectly cutting on diagonal). Oh well, I guess this is OK too, and now I can't bear to replace it and lose all these very kind comments!
thank you very much for your kind comment under myTphoto of Matterhorn. Miro
Great capture! dave hermon
Miro- you're welcome. Dave and Hans - thanks- this was a total "lucky result" - I didn't expect it to works as well when I took it. Sometime luck beats planning. .
Great picture! When I was there, this view was a little surreal, especially at night. I didn't get the shot that I wanted. However,I think that's one of the things that makes photography so enjoyable, knowing that with every day there's always a chance to photograph something in a new way, and that I always find room where I can improve. Thanks again for taking such great pictures of the Midwest! Hope you get a lot more in 2012!
♥A fantastic architecture & fantastic shot!!
♥Best wishes and kind greetings from
Very nice shot, finaly something different.. :)
Thanks Jesse- you are too kind! And likewise. Fardin and GasGas - thank you also - glad you enjoyed the "straight up" view!
