This one is very beautiful as well! I wonder how old it might be.

Greetings, May

This tree and others like it grow in a very old managed woodland from which ships timbers were taken.

They used to bend and mould the branches for specific purposes and this tree is thought to have been grown for the prow (front) part of the keel, can you see the shape from left to right?

As to age it will be around 300 years+, not ancient compared to the Windsor trees elsewhere in my pics but amazing considering the people who created this have been long forgotten! You can just see my brother, center left for scale.

Glad you enjoyed

Thank you for the interesting, additional information, Ian! It's amazing! Trees are a great gift of nature! I respect and love them. A few years ago I discovered a saying of Tatanga Mani about trees and put it under one of my photos of a tree. I'll come back to your other trees! Greetings, May

Wonderful poem, Native Americans had it right in that we are not the centre of everything, full of importance but empty of concern...

Plant a tree, no lots of trees because you wont live forever but your actions will!
