Hi Pam, great picture. And a good move on. This photo has a stunning blue. This is flat.

Greetings,

Carsten

Yep :) the land can't get much flatter. ;) The other picture sure wasn't a happy one but it did fit the chain (I'm very grateful Erik was able to change tracks after it :).

Hi Pam, I wonder what would be in the chain when I am up again (in the afternoon). I hurried back from work tonight just to see a lot more pictures. I think this is really fun. And I don't think that a picture has to be a happy picture because it moves the chain anyway. So maybe next time I have also a not so happy picture. And I will do something about the flowers. This time the book didn't help me.

Greetings,

Carsten

Hi Carsten I should tell you what ROTFLMBO means: Rolling on the Floor Laughing My Butt OFF (in case you and Xenia didn't know......and if that is the case please tell Xenia). I found what she posted hilarious. I truly had to wipe the tears of laughter away. ;D

I'm looking forward to seeing those flowers and if Xenia doesn't know what they are called I might be able to help (or I know someone else here who possibly can).

I'm happy you liked my picture (& I loved the sky that day too :).

Cheers, Pam

Hi Lilypon! Nice shot, I think the most distant cloud is really far away, looks infinite.

Cheers!

Hi Pam, I agree with John, excellent shot! Very good contrast and contrasting colors. I didn't know that Canada could be this flat, just like Holland, although we don't have such vast open spaces anymore. It makes you want to lift off and fly 'Into the great wide open'. Maybe you happen to know this song of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers...

Cheers, Erik

Hi Erik :) The prairie of Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba are the northern part of the Great Plains of North America (if you've seen Dances With Wolves with Kevin Costner you'll have a good idea of what my location looks like...this was the land where the Bisonand Plains Indians roamed and still do in some parks. The bottom half of my province (as with the others) is prairie, the top half is covered with the Boreal forest (which goes right across Canada from British Columbia to Newfoundland).

Parts of the song Great Wide Open do indeed fit the landscape here. ;)

Cheers, Pam

Thank you Majlend and I do believe it is (at least as far as the human eye can see)! ;)

Erik :) I answered your question in the post above this one.

Hi Pam, regarding your comment and Xenias replay of a typical conversation, I have put in the picture we talked about.

Greetings,

Carsten

Thanks for the information Pam! :) I'll check things out. Wide open space was used metaphorically in the song, as I saw in the clip.

Ciao!

Erik
