Daisy on Beale Street, Memphis - 1902
Selected for Google Earth [?] - ID: 64390949
The Daisy, on Beale Street built in 1902, the Daisy is a prime surviving example of Nickelodeon architecture from the early cinema era. On its stage used to perform some of the top blues musicians, but judging from their web site, it is now more of a banquet/ wedding site for rent. The music venues are in the New Daisy (1936) across the street, where the acts can be the latest hip hop, R&B, country or even some blues!
I found the music scene bit lacking, but I was there in the low, low tourist season, so the city was quiet!
