So was he based on a professor at the University?

I wonder if he was, Pam! He's much more realistic than the others I've seen on this building. (Also that impression was helped by the angle of the sun at the time I saw him.) Interestingly, he was placed by what was originally the women's entrance to the library!

Marilyn I guessing then that he was the male librarian pointing out to the ladies that they would really have to put their noses to the book if they wanted to make it in a man's world.
