Crater Lake Autumn Sunrise

Shooting into the breaking dawn constitutes a challenge. Two exposures were used: one for the foreground, the other for the background, and then the two images were combined in Photoshop. I used the Pentax DA 10-17 fisheye zoom lens for this shot. Crater Lake provides a great venue for fisheye lens. The extreme width of the lake almost necessitates using a lens that can provide a 180 degree FOV. The trick is to keep the horizon near the center of the frame to avoid curving through distortion.
