Timmy, get me a job in your organization. Any job. King Air Janitor would suit me just fine as long as I can polish the leather while we are flying. I could help you too. The only difference between your plane and the planes I flew is, hmn, all difference in the world. I take that back. Both types have 1 wing, half to the left, half to the right.

I did get enough experience (about 500 hrs) to grasp how much more skill it takes to keep complex high performance aircraft dirty side down, shinny up, especially on landing.

I got to run but I gotta get off one last thought. I had a excellent instructor when going for my private pilot license. One of the many gems that Dave Foley, my instructor, gave me the day wet ink got on my tag. Dave said, "Bob, you'll be a good safe pilot up to about 200 hours. You'll be an even better pilot if you survive to 500 hours." I knew exactly what Dave meant.

Sure enough, as I acquired more experience my confidence grew. A good thing. As I was nearing 200 hours my confidence got fat. Got a little cocky. Some time in the future I'll tell about a few "events" that scared the cockiness out of me and true to Dave's words I became a better, safer, more competent pilot. A pilot has got to know his limitations. You know the saying, there are bold pilots and there old pilots but there are no old bold pilots.

Now, get me that King Air Janitor position. :)

This one was a really cold trip. I think we averaged about minus 50 to 65 with the windchill for the whole week. I was very happy to get home after this one. Sorry Bob but no janitor positions, only aircraft mechanical engineers can do that go figure.... Tim

Tim,

Your air mass boundary is moving south into PA today. We'll share the same air for about a week.

Last night our temp was about 0. Tonight -10. Thursday Night -10. We return to seasonable - 3 Saturday.

Winnipeg -28 tonight, -31 Thursday, Saturday -14.

Same air, same pattern.

You, my fiend, are on the wrong end of the air deal we share. -30 is WRONG. Ungodly. No wonder you don't like winter. You do not have winter. You have CRYOGENICS.

Bob

Well Bob, we are still in the deep freeze but certainly no where near what we do get once in a while. It is warming up slowly so if that was all the cold stuff for this year we got off lucky. Still lots of winter left to change that!!
