What is an elephant doing atop a sign saying Eaton which, according to the eatate agent is in Stratford but is mapped on the SW extremities of Norwich. Or (as I haven't been there for a couple of months) have they moved Norwish SW a little to get out of completing the A11 extension between Mildenhall and Thetford.

Funnily enough I also asked why there was an elephant atop a sign for Eaton KC, and here's what I discovered:

E = Elephant - which is carrying a cask or Tun

So E + Tun = Eaton.

Well that's what I was told anyway :))

They might as well move Eaton a bit southwest - it was difficult to map these couple of photos :))

How are you BTW? I read somewhere on Nick W's pages that you'd been unable to get out and about!

Only if you open this photo Bonnie Lad - otherwise the problem does not exist, and so no discussion is necessary ;-)

Me thinks you may have been lied to Amelia given there is a bridge and a lion with an elephants head in evidence also. These Norwich folk just aren't to be trusted.

'Twas a church warden that told me that! I must pen a complaint to the bishop ;-)
