fantastic!.....is in my favourite!

Richard Ryer on January 4, 2008

Greetings Gabri, Thanks for visiting the lighting display and commenting. I am glad it is one of your favorites. Even with Christmas over the display will stay up for two more weeks. Denver has an event called the stock show which brings ranchers in from all over the world and the display is still one of the favorite things to go see, especially for the children.

Cheers,

Rich

Nice composition!!

Richard Ryer on January 8, 2008

Greetings Arm74, Thanks for visiting the light display and your wonderful comment. The lights on the building are beautiful and will stay up for another 10 days. Then they go away until next Christmas season. The children really like the display, music and statues. Such fun.

Cheers,

Rich

Wonderful photos, Richard. Thank you.

My wife and I were standing right at the midpoint of the display at 6 p.m. Since the City and County Building curved around both sides of us, encompassing our peripheral vision, when the lights suddenly illuminated we both felt that we suddenly moved forward!

They leave many of the spotlights up on the tower. They take the color filters out so the tower is lit by white light.

Channel 9's fun "Light the Lights" event is the day after Thanksgiving. From then, the lights are on every evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and until midnight Christmas Eve, Day and New Year's Eve.

The 10-bell chime will play Christmas carols and requests starting at 7 p.m. from December 12th through the 25th in 2008. Also for a half hour after Light the Lights and the Parade of Lights.
