Thanks for the nice pictures about Nyon. Is it possible to move this one down to the lake where it was taken? The coordinates should be 46.382435 (lat) and 6.243256 (long) and the legend should say "View from the Débarcadère". La Redoute is another place, in the Northern part of Nyon.
I checked all my photos before this image. I just got off the boat from Yvone and walked to the first street to wait for our bus. My marker is wrong, I'll fix it. Any suggestions on where the street is? Thank you.
You probably took the photo just after taking off the boat from Yvoire by the Débarcadère at the intersection of Route de Lausanne and Promenade Niedermeyer. The coordinates are: lat 46.382458 lon 6.243204.
Thank you for your research. I try my best to place the Icon on the spot I took the photo. I found the pier and placed the Icon again. My photo before this image was taken on the pier and I could see the street ahead, which was only about 50 meters.
A quibble: "Yvone" is a conflation of Yvoire and Thonon, I guess; both are villages on the French side of Lac Leman. Yvoire is just across the lake from Nyon. BTW the restaurant just behind the umbrellas is "Restaurant Le Leman" and is quite good.
