Recently rescued by the historian John Quarstein and a merry band of history buffs from becoming a new and even more absurd shopping center in a city that is already almost 100% strip malls, loan sharks and nail parlors, Endview Plantation clings to a little 18th Century dignity. About a mile away, the gorgeous pile of Lee Hall, which has given its name to the surrounding region, can trace its origins only back to the early 19th Century.
