Wow......I am assuming that is spume being blown off the tops of waves IN THE HARBOUR Jim

What it must have been like in open water, beggars belief, although I have been in a harbour and felt huge winds only to put out and find the storm less accentuated once out of the mountain surrounded harbour.

This great image really defines it for me though Jim and it looks a lovely piece of water (if exposed).

Best wishes - Jethro

Jethrohoyt - Thanks Jethro, I guess this would appeal to you with your past sailing experiences. It was so windy that day we just got in the car and drove to Ullapool for a bit of sightseeing rather than even attempting going up any mountains! This was the view from the security of the large bungalow we'd (about 6 guys) rented for a few days winter climbing in nearby Torridon.

Itallica - It may well be a wee breeze compared to some of the Arctic blasts you may get where you live Tery!

linrich - Thanks linrich.

Thanks to all you guys. Best wishes - Jim on February 3, 2012

Another isolated house in the middle of the beauty.

A rather terrifying beauty in this case! :-) Cheers - Jim
