Wild Toronto, Red-Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis). thanks Renata

This Red-Tailed Hawk or (Buteo jamaicensis) , almost starled me as it was sitting on a low branch of a tree. I have never seen it in High Park, which is in the middle of the city.

There were actually two birds, maybe a couple! It was a large bird, about a half a meter from head to tail.

I could get relatively close, then the bird would just hop on another branch or tree.

Annelies, this one anyone could capture.

I look for them few days ago, but there were no trace of them, the park was quite busy that day, which may scared them away.

The tennis courts and hockey rings are near by, and it was a warm day, so the dieharts were playing.

It was strange to see tennis and hockey players on the same day!
