Isn't it such a pity that the GE selectors don't see fit to put these sorts of photo on the map Joe? You must have really enjoyed this day out, even though it was a wee bit dreich!
I love the number plate on the white car - OTT. What make of cars are these? They look a bit 'Eastern Bloc'!
Merci pour le merle, le rallye de Monte
Carlo: Que de bons souvenirs télévisuels dans les années 60 et 70 avec les Renaults 8 Gordini, Alpines et autres Austins lors de leurs passages dans les cols des alpes. Amicalement. Jean Louis
These are Hillman Imps, Amelia. They used to make them here in Scotland, at Linwood. Cheers, Joe
Merci pour ton gentil commentaire, Jean Louis. Amicalement, Joe
yeah, as race-car :)))
I thought I recognised the marque! I used to drive one in the early 1970s, a nice olive green number. Unfortunately, it developed a leak in the radiator, and as the engine was aluminum - you may well imagine the consequences! :(
I photographed the Hillman Imp at Summerlee. I have also photographed the one in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, but, as of yet, I haven't published the photograph on here.
Best wishes from Scotland, Joe
