That's very purple for Blue Ridge Mountains Kevin
Like wow !
Cheers - Jethro
Indeed, Jethro. Let's just call it an artistic interpretation via split toning.
Yes, very beautiful. cjlin
If Deep Purple ever makes a Best of collection I think I know the person whose number they ought to have :) .
The new lighthouse series with one word: Superb.
Thank you, cjlin!
HAHAHAHA, sixten! I'd be happy to donate the album cover! Thank you on the lighthouse series. I had a hard time choosing a "favorite" so I just shared several that I like.
BTW, sixten, are you still participating in the Pano forums? I haven't checked in since the new format was introduced. I would be interested in your impression on the type of interactions in the critique forum.
Thanks for asking, Kevin. Yes, I have continued the Forum postings but less and less. It really has been very quiet there. I noticed some day that I had my avatar as the newest almost on every main topic so decided to cool down a little bit :D. Now my London Look Around post has been the newest one for three weeks...
It has also been quite a surprise to see that it may take two days to see anybody to give critique when someone asks for it. I remember when the delay it was only minutes. And the conversation then was often good - or entertaining. Sometimes both!
Ps. :) I guess Panoramio gave us a little too many new toys in a very short time. And one of them was very broken: the new thumbnail adding tool. I had no big troubles to make it work but it still feels so clumsy that there is always a real barrier that I would like to start using it.
Also, I have always thought that the Forum has been advertised too little. Especially now when half of the users have left (hopefully not for ever) one tiny word "Forum" on the main page is not very efficient way to bring new users in.
I'm not saying greetings from Finland this time - the text would be too long :D
sixten, I'm glad to hear that you have (mostly) stuck with the forum. I must admit that I do miss the critique forum. I owe a great debt of gratitude to a lot of great people for most of what I know about photography today. And almost all of that came from the Panoramio forum. I like to share as much as I can to give some of that knowledge back.
I got so angry with Panoramio for forcing a broken tool onto us, when they knew it was broken, at a time when the support staff was on holiday. That told me a lot about how important Panoramio thinks the forums are and I just walked away. But I am the forgiving sort. I would like to drop in but I honestly don't know where to start with using the new tools. I don't know what works and what doesn't work. I even have a hard time following the flow of the reply chain.
Yes, the reply chain... another pain. I have had some problems to find even my own postings again :).
I still hope many people would start to use critique forum again. At the moment there is not very great danger to get lost.
Hi Guys. I see the Deep Purple reference has already been made. It's a similar colour to my face when I last tried to use the Forum. Just like Deep Purple, some of the old stuff was better than the stuff we have today.
KC, if you happened to snap a Facebook type self-portrait then, I'm afraid Kevin may face a serious setback in the competition for the Purple cover. :)
Great weekend to you two anyway!
Beautiful purple view!
Like and Fav.
best regards, Darjo
