Frosted Fern, Robert and Marilyn Burman Wildlife Management Area, Oak Grove, Minnesota

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

There are frost crystals all over this fern, which is about 3" (7 cm) long. Note the occasional spike-like ice crystals on the tips of some of the fronds. The hoarfrost on some objects had crystals like this up to 1/2" (~1 cm) long.

I like the colors, the frost is a nice offset to the brown hues.

I don't want to seen critical, but these photos are way too good! Now please pull your finger out and turn in a few rotten shots for the "my worst pan" group! Chris.
