Lake Charles, LA - Lakefront Promenade. Completed in 2010

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Established in 1852, the town was first called Charleston, which was later changed to Lake Charles, as there were probably already several Charlestons in America.

It is said to be the most beautiful location for a city in the state of Louisiana. The effort of Jacob Ryan in locating the town on the banks of Lake Charles has been commemorated in the name of the main street of the city.
