Das Bild wurde mit einem Teleobjektiv von der Landseite so ausgenommen, dass es wie ein von der Seeseite aus aufgenommen aussieht. Zu sehen ist die Anlegestelle für die Fischerboote. Man sieht einzelne abgedeckte verkaufsstände. Von dort aus führt dann ein Weg das Ufer hoch Richtung Stadt. Die grauästigen Bäume sind Affenbrotbäume, die zur Aufnahmezeit in der Trockenheit kahl sind. An diesem Fischmarkt wird der lokale Fischfang angelandet.

The photo shows the lokal fishmarket of the tansanian town of Mtwara. In the huts at the right corner the fish will be sold fresh or also already -as the smoke may indicate- cooked or fried. the big grey coloured trees belong to the species Adansonia digitata. It is one of the most famous trees in Africa, and is respected very much by africans. The trees in the photo are gre, because it is dry season in which the leaves have already fallen off.
