Enderbury Island. The redish brown material is pooled bird droppings. LOTS of it! The Island is approx. 1 x 2 miles. In the upper left is a 65ft tuna boat that had run aground. It was pushed onto the reef by wind and wave when its engine failed. These Korean boats harvested the tuna (150-250 lb each) found in the area. Working on a percentage, the crews fished till the ships refrigerated hole was filled. At the time, a glass blower was part of the crew, making floats for thier nets. (1974)

This picture is backwards. If you don't believe me, match up the features of the redish brown pool to that on google earth. Also, the shipwreck is on the wrong side. Other than that ...Great picture!
