The collective name for a number of Redwings is a "crowd".
Well flock me!
Turdus huh? Over here that would make them almost robins Peter
Well done on snagging these shots, I ain't niver......
Having had a little time to read up about the Fieldfares and Redwings it appears that they visit us in winter and feed mainly in the open fields. If the snow or frost cover the fields they will move into the gardens.
This was indeed the case as a flock of at least a hundred payed us a visit for about a week. Now the snow and frost have gone they have disappeared!
All the best Peter
You see, whilst I had a book on birds when I was in the UK Peter I never had the interest I have now.....
Age is good for somethings.
Thanks for the extra info - Jethro
