Thanks for your interest. I had been to the "Forbidden Corner" at Middleham. The photo of the bridge was taken whilst returning to the M6 at junction 37. The location can't be far from the A684 although I did make a few detours in order to see more of the countryside.

Maybe it is Bainbridge and my memory of the location is at fault. It wouldn't be the first time.

Not Bainbridge, the river that runs through it, the Bain, little more than an exaggerated stream. I doubt it's anywhere between Hawes and Leyburn. It does look familiar.. but I can't seem to place it. Somewhere near Middleham seems likely. I've emailed my dear mother to see if she can place it.

I don't know thw preciae borders of Wensleydale but the bridge is definitely within a few miles of the A 684
