Hello again, Ron. I've been going through your gallery backwards as I seem to do, and have found it is indeed a small world. I visit a friend in Detroit once in awhile, and haven't met anyone who has heard of Detroit, OR, let alone been there and to the lake. Beautiful greens and calm reflection in this. Thanks for posting. -alicia

Hi Alicia, I'm glad you enjoy my photos. I'm a retired photojournallist and I shoot every day because I love to do it. It's clear that you love it to and you have some very good skills. I live in Oregon , and although I travel a great deal, I find lots of good subjects here. Ron

Ah, that explains the quality of your photos. You are fortunate to have been able to combine passion and profession. And to be retired and shooting daily! Thank you as well and I look forward to seeing more of your posts.

Alicia - I'm surprised you've never met anyone who has heard of Detroit Lake. It is THE most popular boating/fishing spot in Oregon by a long shot.

That sailboat, by the way, belongs to Ray and Naomi Sanders of Silverton, Oregon. It's a Norsea 27.

Sorry for my belated reply, debron - I have been gone on vacation. Obviously I don't fish or boat in Oregon very much, and most people I know associate Detroit with it's 'bigger sister' in Michigan, so Detroit OR gets a lot of chuckles up here. Thank you though for the info - I will passs it along. Best, alicia.

Ah, so you're not from Oregon? That would explain why Detroit Lake is not familiar to you. Where is "up here"?
