The cathedral of Agios Nicholas in Volos is a cruciform Byzantine church designed by Aristotle Zachos replacing older namesake church, which was destroyed by fire in 1897.O Cathedral of the city, the first of three churches which was designed by Zachos in Volos, founations the 1928 was completed in 1934.Aristotle Zachos (1871-1939)was a leading figure of the Greek architecture of the 20th century. studied architecture at the three major southern German Universities, Technical Universities of Munich, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe.
