Before this photos series I been in Tartu only few times and for me it was long long time ago. Now I see - Tartu is fantastic! From this point is just pity because I living in Riga and it takes for me lot of hours to reach this town, and so far I have only "nightshoots" from there. But still hope I will have chance go there in summer period too. :)
With greetings from Riga - Ainars.
Thanks a lot dear Ainars.
Tartu really is worth a visit. We have a
If you´ll ever stop at Vaike Maarja and/or
Koeru: photos are VERY welcome
Thank You for link! I will read it, because I am one who love history research. Before this, I have read about Lievens family roots and heritage in Baltic.
If again about this observatory building - one of reasons why I photographed, this building is registered as Struve Arc triangulation point.
With greetings from Riga/Latvia. Ainars
This photo is linked in Google Earth to Tartu Observatory in Tõravere. This link is wrong. On the picture is the old observatory of the Tartu University, which is located in Tartu on Toome hill, more than 20 km from Tõravere!
Thank You uhaud for Your comment!
For my understanding, there is no wrong coordinates problem with our photos nor with mine, nor with Ainars Brūvelis nor with Dark000 photos. You can check accuracy of our photos in Panoramio map. (I mean that right panel in this page, side by side to each our mapped photos). :)
In this case, Your discovered problem must be forwarded to Google Earth service, how they referenced different data sources (and/or GE application as such).
For this moment, how I see, only "reason" why our Tartu photos is referenced in Tõravere is name of photos "Tartu observatory".
Let me know, if You will see another bad/good references problem, will be appreciated in advance.
With best regards from Riga - Ainars M.
Hi Ainar M, that golden light over the observatory's tower is really a wonderful view.
Tartu must be wonderful in winter - especially
whilst on christmas time.
Star for that one - michael
@tuttipole123: i went to your site and must admit that it looks nice. Did not knew something about Väike Marja what we passed on our way north. But we met very nice people at one of that little lakes around.
