Greetings from Brisbane, Anna. All is well, though we have had wet weather related problems with our internet service lately. Thanks for the appreciation of the image.

Greetings Berend. This peak is relatively easy to climb and it is a great vantage point, with Brisbane visible. The summit scrub has become rather thick lately.

Yes Ricky, it is a challenge for many, for there is a bit of a ledge walk and some chimney climbing necessary and the scrub on top is rather dense.. but t is well worth the effort.

Warm regards,

Ian

Hi Ian, this is one of my favourite walking areas from when I lived in Brisbane a few years ago. Still a regular visitor to the area as my in-laws live in SE-QLD. Great to see these great pictures of the Main Range and the adjacent Darling Downs area. They really show the beauty of the place. Cheers, Fritz

Thanks for your encouragement, Fritz. You just might realize that this photo was taken from the middle of the highway, Fritz! As is often the case after heavy rain, there was reconstruction work going on on the Cunningham Highway that morning. Being early in the morning, as I had earlier been enjoying a photoshoot, there weren't too many vehicles about, so this is the result of finding myself as the only vehicle stopped by the traffic controller. But to be a bit more authentic, I have climbed to the summit of this peak several times, but not that day.

I thought it might have been from the highway. One of the most beautiful in Australia ... I think anyway. On the photo you can't tell, though. Well, at least if you haven't been. It really is an awesome photo that just makes me want to go and climb it again. Love that cristal clear morning sky. Great!

Mount Mitchell also deserves some more photography, especially its eastern wall that slices through the basaltic lava flows. Every time I look up at it, especially from the highway I am impressed.

Thanks for sharing in a love for this area, Fritz.
