Little Petra is named Al-Beidha in Arabic, meaning 'the white one'. It is an important archaeological site in Jordan . This site is only a few kilometers from Petra and it is literally hidden away in the center of a mountain.
It is thought to have been one of the commercial areas of Petra where caravans of traders would constantly arrive.
This miniature version of Petra contains a number of notable tombs. The one on the left stands near the entrance to Little Petra demonstrates how well preserved some of these monuments are. This tomb had a door, and internal shelving to hold the dead.
