Very good perspective. Very good color and light.

A grim image... But by god, it is bloody brilliant. Not skimping on high detail, everything is here!

Yorkshire Sam on February 19, 2012

Thank you Christian, your visit and comment is much appreciated.

Best wishes, Sam

Yorkshire Sam on February 19, 2012

Cheers Si, it is grim and yet I always find it attractive somehow , as do many judging by the frequency with which this gets photographed. There were 3 other togs just while I was there.

That's because they'll have seen your shots!

I can't make tonight. Going to spend some rare time with my wife.

Another stunning landscape shot Sam, although not an obvious subject for a grande landscape - the composition really works and you make the images from that Nikon D80 pin sharp ! Kind Regards Stuart

It's simply magnificent. YS+L. Best wishes, Andy

Yorkshire Sam on February 19, 2012

Cheers Stuart, given the very strong side wind and the lengthy lens I am more than surprised any detail remained so your compliment really pleases me.

best wishes, Sam

Yorkshire Sam on February 19, 2012

And I'm simply grateful to receive your kind words etc Andy, thank you.

Yorkshire Sam on February 19, 2012

And I'm sure we'll be back again Clive :o).

now you say from hell but as I think I said previously getting ownership of one of those huts is nigh on impossible. Those that have them cherish them dearly.

I just see the place a bit like those women you meet in life that aren't beautiful but they have a rough attraction and a dangerous fascination :o)

Cheers mate !

Oooooo eh? What an interesting comment thread this one is developing!

I can see that on my next photo-trip round N Yorkshire I am going to have to forsake Whitby for Redcar (and then head back over to t'Lakes).

Nice one Sam - Jethro

Incredible detail! Difficult to tell sky from smoke! Y*.

Best wishes, Brian.

Yorkshire Sam on February 21, 2012

Cheers Jethro, personally I wouldn't pass Whitby over for this but if you can do both then it is well worth the effort. Many thanks for the great comment.

regards, Sam

Thank you Brian, these industrial scenes aren't to everyones taste and so I am always happy to read any positive remarks after a viewing.

best wishes, Sam

ian1949 on February 21, 2012

I like the industrial scenes if it ever disappears how would anyone know what it was like in the future if it wasn't recorded.

Neil Grimwood on February 21, 2012

No apology needed Sam,not when there's shots like this to be had anyway, I don't mind industrial landscapes, having said that it isn't all industry in a way as you've included the huts.
