A view of the cottage from the garden. The cottage will be 200 years old in 2008. It was in the possession of Lawrence of Arabia from 1923 until 1935, the year of his death as a result of injuries received in a road accident on 13th May.

If it was for sale and I had the money, I would love to live in it! Greetings from Germany.

Hi Lillimi. It is a 'National Trust' property meaning you can visit it. It is very small inside and has very few facilities. If it hadn't been Lawrence's house it would have been demolished long ago and a large luxury house built there. Here's the link to the **National Trust page. Best wishes from the UK, purdey

Hi Purdey, Interesting, thanks for the information. Just as well it can't be demolished, there are far too many luxury houses and golf courses around!

Hi kamaly. Lawrence planned to live here in his retirement years but of course his life was cut tragically short by an relatively low speed road accident about 400 metres down the road - and after all he'd been through in the Middle East. One of the memorials at the accident site can be seen here. All the best, purdey
