The MV Irish Trader, laid down 1949. Lost when grounded, Feb 1st 1974 at Baltray strand Co. Louth. Cargo: Fertilizer, bound for Drogheda.

Hello Pat - After you left your grand comment in my gallery, I had to check out what you had on offer in your gallery... I found your comment suggested a bod with an eye similar to my own and now that I have seen this wonderful photograph, my expectations have been surpassed :-)

Super composition.... and the monochrome sky is a masterly touch... particularly the wee bit visible through the hole in the hull...

Sad though it is to see an old ship such as this so derelict, I feel that images such as these keep them alive...

I will find this in the competition.... It certainly has my vote :-)
