Nunha turbeira ao leste do cume de Pena Trevinca (2.127 m), a montaña máis alta da Galiza, nace o río Tera, que discorre por un val aberto por unha lingua glaciar de 20 km de lonxitude, da que a morrena encorou a Lagoa de Seabra, a maior da península de orixe glaciar.
