Charlestons Capitol Street

Downtown Capitol Street in Charleston. This is the city's main street, as the State Capitol once stood here before it burned down and was later moved about 2 miles east from this location.

This is a great picture of one of my favorite spots in Charleston. A taste of the old fashioned among tall skyscrapers and parking garages. I love that this area is always shady and you've done a great job of showing that in the photo.

I grew up in Charleston but moved away upon graduation from High School in 1984. Much of the treescape/facade redos had not been done when I lived there - most of Capitol Street was treeless, with faded tan brick storefronts.

I just wish they had chosen a different variety of trees to plant along the street years ago. Back when they first planted them (late 80s?), they looked great, but now they're so tall and overgrown, they block the views of the great building facade details. Oh well.

Hello I'm just an admirer that kind of come across your amazing talent while looking for information about our local post office, and I wanted to comment. Your pictures are amazing! Every picture that I have seen so far has me understanding why people were in the photographic class while i was taking quickbooks. There is alot to making pictures come out this beautiful. Looking at this one it brought back my thoughts and feelings that i felt when i last went there. Its like a whole different era to the rest of Charleston. The East Side near the capital is beautiful too. But I also seen a picture of Charleston in a panoramic view and I was wondering if you had one of Tornado, which is where I live.
