Nice trees and wood Ian. Greetings Berend
It is a very attractive environment, Berend. Thanks for your appreciation.
If i could...
Very impressive and very very nice dearest Ian
Warm greetings. Füsun
But you must... your host family awaits your arrival dear Fü. And when you do.. you are in for a big surprise...many big surprises.
I like this wood. Is it some sort of eucalyptus?
Yes, Fried, this is certainly a eucalypt. I cannot confirm the spp. but I suspect it is E. grandis. Our common name for E. grandis is "flooded gum" although some people refer to it as a "rose gum" because of the colour of its timber. This is an excellent hardwood timber, is browsed by koalas, and is impressive in any landscape.
Greetings from the south Queensland forests,
I know them from the massive eucalyptus forests in the province of Huelva in Andalucía, Spain. Burning the fresh leaves gives a wonderful taste to roasts or grilled meat/fish.
I hadn't realised that eucalypts had been planted in Spanish forests. I know how delighted we were to see Australian acacia spp in full bloom when we were first in Spain years ago.
..so i need some luggage...
You might like to organize a stopover in Mombasa, on the way home, Fü. I'll be looking for the purple luggage on the luggage carousel in Brisbane or Sydney.
Los bosques son hermosos...un gran LIKE para tu foto. Un abrazo. Ale.
Thank you very much, Ale. I love this patch of forest - it stops me every time I drive that scenic road. Warmest regards.
