I'm glad you like it Susan Lynn. It really was much better than this picture. Lower in the trees was a deep purple and at the bottom of the trees it was fire red. It looked like the woods were on fire. It hurt my eyes to look at it.

But I bet you just couldn't take your eyes off of it! A very intense sunset, that doesn't happen every evening.

If I had known it was coming I would have driven over and parked myself on a pier at the beach. You wouldn't believe how hot it was yesterday. I was still in a tank top at sunset.

Is that normal for your area at this time of the year? This is one freaky winter, that's for sure. Today was a cold one. Went for a walk with Casey, I was cold (even though I dress for it). I heard that later this week, it's supposed to get up near 50 degrees. Tonight, they're calling for snow and freezing rain. But it's not tank top weather, not yet!

It wouldn't be odd at all if it was in December, but in February it is usually decently cold. Last February was very cold for here. It was 15 a number of nights. It was hot again today. Winter may be over for us, but I guess not for you!

You won't see me unwrapping the burlap from the shrubs yet (deer enjoy making meals out of them). I won't be taking the snow tires off. I also promise to not put out the patio furniture just yet. I have been tempted to start cleaning up the beds and gardens...

Nell Baleau on February 29, 2012

Do you do a lot of gardening?

Susan Lynn on February 29, 2012

Let's just say it take 7 truckloads of mulch per season! I love gardening, it's my therapy and an incredible stress reliever!

Nell Baleau on February 29, 2012

Could you send me some of that energy?

Susan Lynn on March 2, 2012

It takes us about a month to clean up all the debris, edge, prune the shrubs, go and get the mulch, shovel it out of the back of the pickup into the wheel barrel, spread it out around the trees and in the beds...it's hard work, but once it's done, it's worth it!
