Storm of 1900, Galveston Isle

Not selected for Google Earth or Google Maps after a second review [?]

In memory of the 6000 victims lost at sea during the Galveston hurricane of September 8, 1900, artist David Moore created this memorial. The monument was dedicated in Sept, 2000; the work represents the suffering of the victims and the strength of the survivors who stayed to rebuild the city.

The 10-ft bronze sculpture portrays a family - a father, mother and child - clinging together.

4th place in the June 2012 TTT Contest!! Sculpture!

Wow... it's very emphatic and climatic Tom, I Like this work. I think, that monochrom it was only correct choice for this photo. Greetings, Maggie

Yes you are right, malby! In colour, I did not get this dramatic image and the day was overcast so not much contrast to begin with!

Ingo, the halo is there, because I like it there! ;-)

During the processing, I darkened the photo and applied bit backlight.

It was pretty dull day, and the sculpture needed some drama!!!
