On 'Frenchmen' in New Orleans

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Frenchmen Street in Marigny part of N.O. is a place where the music flows from the clubs.

It has a different vibe that Bourbon Street, less touristy, more genuine!

I visited 3 clubs in one evening, all different style of Jazz.

Unfortunately, only one club had non smoking policy.

The street is called Frenchmen, but the french language they speak a Frenchman would not understand.....! Even the English was sometimes difficult for me.

I hear many time Canadian French on TV. I have no problem with their accent. Just the vocabulary that is a bit specific..

Tomros on December 1, 2012

The French they speak in New Orleans, is even more obscure. Creole is as unique as Jiddish!
