Incredible view, liking the name of the B&B!

Amelia Royan on March 2, 2012

Good morning Bonnie Lad, I liked the name of the B&B here too. It's a nice wee street in South Queensferry, and we had a cup of coffee with 'snowballs' just down from here :))

Ca canny noo, Amelia

Nick Weall on March 10, 2012

I feel this ought to be the start of a long story ~~

Amelia Royan on March 12, 2012

Do you know what a snowball is dear Nick? I wonder if you have given up Maltesers for Lent. ;)

Nick Weall on March 12, 2012

a snowball can be a cocktail link or maybe a marshmallow or maybe a white malteser ~ I've given up all goodies for lent :)))

Amelia Royan on March 12, 2012

A Tunnocks Snowball looks like this, and very nice they are too.

That's terrible news about giving up everything - I thought it was just the Nikon! ;-)

Nick Weall on March 13, 2012

Oh so I was not too far away from the solution then really dearest LGM :~) As to the goodies ~ it is only the edible snacks and chocolate on the banned list ~ Staple foods and drink still allowed thank goodness :))

Amelia Royan on March 13, 2012

Thank goodness you're still eating the staples, at least they should hold you together ;-)

I had visions of you being so week that you could barely hold the tripod never mind the Nikon!

Nick Weall on March 13, 2012

I knew it this really is turning into one of those long running cereals ~ a weekly diet of all that is best, inserted in some national news flash ~ And sure my vision is not what it was and I almost need a tripod to stand :))) ~ In the meantime you have me in stitches ~~~

Amelia Royan on March 13, 2012

I hope you are not snickering behind people's backs!

This will only be a short sago this morning, I have an appointment with a rather lovely Edinburgh surgeon who will be checking yet again if I have anything between my ears. ;)

Does this tripod of yours have a spirit level on it? Much more convenient than a hip flask I guess. :))

Nick Weall on March 13, 2012

My tripod has two spirit levels on it ~ a hint of overkill me thinks, but one for the legs and one for the upper gimbal ~ this is useful for panning ~ a hip flask would take the total to three ~ and of course guarantee that nothing was quite on the level after all. Good luck with the brain search ~ maybe mermaids keep theirs somewhere else. Maybe you'll need a holiday with Saga afterwards or just curl up with an Aga romance otherwise ~~~

Amelia Royan on March 21, 2012

They eventually, after a lot of searching, found it in my tail. On the scale of 1-10 this rates as fairly normal for mermaids, with a score of 9!

Unfortunately they didn't find the automatic spirit leveller most land-based humans have! I am being given treatment ...

Nick Weall on March 21, 2012

Ah the spirit level is usually found between the ears or even within the ears ~ probably plugging em up with bubble gum will solve the problem or at least make you waterproof again and able to stand horizontally or lie vertically or even the other way around ~ Glad you scored so high on the brain scan though ~ that is really good news

Amelia Royan on March 21, 2012

I find it difficult to stand horizontally ... how about you?

Nick Weall on March 21, 2012

in the spirit of enlightenment I can stand on the level in Brighton and maybe on the Hoe in Plymouth too :) Maybe if you are standing vertically at the equator you might be said to be horizontal to the axis of our planet (Give or take the odd degree and wobble ~ All in all it is a fishy business and one man's vertical might be a Mermaid's horizontal ~ I think I'm confused :)))

LIKE 2. I like the perspective in this shot, Amelia. There are lots of photogenic locations in Queensferry. On a clear day, you can even see as far as Fife! Cheers, Joe

When the North Sea haar isn't there, Joe. LOL

I agree, Queensferry is a nice wee place for photography.

Cheers, Amelia

Maybe one day I will venture into North Queensferry, Amelia! LOL. Cheers, Joe

It's a lot easier for you than for us Joe. LOL

Looking forward to the photos.
