Thanks, Gabi. Still need some practice with the camera as this shot is a little bit fuzzy. They move so fast, so you have to be quick!

Foirgive me for having the cheek to try to advise you on improving your hummingbird shots Julie when I hardly know you and have not built up any cred at all...... but;

  1. use flash
  2. use a tripod and Canon's remote software and the USB cable provided.

The picture linked above were taken using the pre-pre-predecessor to your camera, so you can get great results.

Set up the feeder and plug your Canon SX20 into your laptop/netbook/PC using the USB cable supplied. Run the remote control software supplied and wait for a hummer to appear. Don't forget use flash for crystal clear shots and those see through wings.
