Big car or small house?... obviously no garage! Sailor Jerry in NOLA.

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Good work ain't cheap; cheap work ain't good reads the inscription on this car. Parked on Charters, one of the main New Orleans streets. Probably Chevrolet Impala between 1958-59.(longest Chevy ever made!)

This classic Cajun Cottage house is probably 100 years older (around 1800).

For sale at $399,000 (only 1 bedroom, 1 bath) or $2000/month rent.

Info from PIT58 This Car A Legend...

1958 Chevrolet Impala

The year 1958 was the first year of the Impala. It started out as a model package for the Bel Air, but was more impressive. It came in two different body styles, a convertible and a sport coupe.

It had Impala script, insignia and crossed flag emblems on the front of the hood, ribbed body sill panels, large chrome air scoops ahead of rear wheels on the fenders, a competition style deep two spoke steering wheel with Impala medallions, and Impala script on the dash. It also had six taillights giving it a distinct look over all other Chevrolets. .....................................................................

1958 Chevy Impala was Owned by Buddy Holly

American excesses along with tradition... Outstanding shot!

PS: did you see the name of the real estate agency: two pure french names:)

Best greetings, Bernard

Bernard, I am not sure you would understand their Cajun french, but sure sounds good with the zydeco.

Great car - do you know that Sailor Jerry (1911 - 1973) was a great tattoo artist and Don Ed Hardy's teacher? L&YS

Greetings, Dida

p.s.: The house is also very nice! ;-D

Yes Dida, I do know know, I did not know that when I took this photo.

Ah, o.K. - I just thought... because the information are missing in the description - otherwise you're always very complete! ;-DD

There is also a rum with his name, I think the car is a advertising for the rum.

I just looked up the price of the house.

$399,000, but only 1 bedroom/ 1 bath

Dida from Augsburg on March 3, 2012

Yes, there is a "Sailor Jerry Ltd." founded by Ed Hardy and others - they produced a collection of clothing and other items such as ashtrays, sneakers, playing cards, keys and shot glasses. Also they produce a 92 percent Rum with a hula girl on the label designed by Sailor Jerry. In an empty bottle are on the inside of the label visible more pin-up girls which he has designed.

...a hefty price for such a small house! Is there even a garden?

Tomros on March 3, 2012

Garden? I have my doubt. They call it condo!

Dida from Augsburg on March 3, 2012

Well, then I will not buy it - the car is probably also not included!? ;-DD

Interesante conjunto, me gusta. Like. Saludos desde Madrid, España

Dida, I am actually suprised.

In Detroit you can buy a house for $1,000.

In Flint, Michigan is probably free! I stop there once!! If you did, you would know why! ;-)
