Good work ain't cheap; cheap work ain't good reads the inscription on this car. Parked on Charters, one of the main New Orleans streets. Probably Chevrolet Impala between 1958-59.(longest Chevy ever made!)

This classic Cajun Cottage house is probably 100 years older (around 1800).

Info from PIT58 This Car A Legend...

1958 Chevrolet Impala

The year 1958 was the first year of the Impala. It started out as a model package for the Bel Air, but was more impressive. It came in two different body styles, a convertible and a sport coupe.

It had Impala script, insignia and crossed flag emblems on the front of the hood, ribbed body sill panels, large chrome air scoops ahead of rear wheels on the fenders, a competition style deep two spoke steering wheel with Impala medallions, and Impala script on the dash. It also had six taillights giving it a distinct look over all other Chevrolets. .....................................................................

Everything has it's price.....and I really need some 'good work' before I'm able to pay that amount of money....... Love the picture, the house and car. Although driving such a car here will cost you a fortune on fuel! Prices have gone up recently gasoline is now doing 1.839 Euro/Liter (that is 2,40 US Dollar!)

Enjoy your day, Erik

ERIK, the lucky thing in N.O. you do not need to drive. People walk everywhere or ride a bike.

They have trolleys, but the intervals seemed very long! you usually walk faster!

The gas in the south was about $3.30-$3.50 Gal- $0.90/l (Ga=3.8 l) in Toronto is about $1.30/ l

A long car (longest Chevy ever made), small house (about 20 ft or 7 meters), and short lens ( 4.7 mm) and a good photographer. L/F Best regards from Los Angeles, Hal

Tomros - Pano on March 23, 2012

Hal, thanks a lot!! I did not realize, that this was the longest Chevy! The houses are tiny, but still priced high even now and even by Toronto standards!
